A view of Harwich Redoubt from the top gallery, showing the circular central yard surrounded by doors. Above many of the doors is a porthole window and beside the doors are portrait-format rectangular paned windows. The uniformity of the building suggests a military use. Iron-looking fencing surrounds the inside of rooftop gallery, breached by at least three rooftop perches, presumably for bringing items up from the central yard. In the distance port cranes are visible on the far side of the water.

Harwich Redoubt is a circular fort built in 1808 to defend the port of Harwich, Essex from Napoleonic invasion.
